Monument Park wins architectural award
MAB’s Monument Park recently came away with a win at the 2015 Victorian Architecture Awards, held on June 26th. An Architecture Award in the Small Project Architecture category was presented to Monument Park architects McBride Charles Ryan, artist Callum Morton, and landscape architects Oculus.
The Awards, held by the Australian Institute of Architecture, recognise excellence and innovation in design, with each separate Awards category presided over by a three person jury comprised of Institute members. The Small Project Architecture category recognises projects that are considered to be ‘small’ in terms of area and/or budget, with Monument Park achieving well-deserved recognition amongst a field of 25 high calibre entries.
Monument Park, a beautiful addition at NewQuay, Docklands, is Australia’s first capital city sculpture park and the latest of MAB’s integrated art and landscape projects. It marks the first of six public spaces to be created in NewQuay over the next five years.
